The earth’s population is predicted to reach 9 billion by 2050. The search for solutions to the problem of providing sufficient food for everyone must take into consideration sustainable growth while minimizing risk to society and the environment.

The principle of sustainability is the basis for Smithfield Foods’ business activities in Poland and around the world. For several years now, Smithfield has monitored and collected data on those activities and measured our accomplishments, progress and performance in six corporate sustainability areas.

Those areas are food safety and quality, animal care, employees, environment, helping communities and value creation. Smithfield monitors performance in these areas for all its divisions.
